Atlanta, GA, February 20th, 2016 – Executive Producers and writers Michelle and Maria Acero, of Acero Twins Productions and Director Inda Reid were the recipients of two prestigious Global Awards at the 2016 IndieFEST Film Awards in the recognition categories of African American and Women filmmakers for their feature film, SUNDAY MORNINGS. The film is an exciting Dramity loosely based on the true-life story about a Deacons Daughter ‘Sunday’, and her sisters. Hold on to your hats when watching this film as Sunday Mornings dark undertones feature exceptional original creative content. Sunday Mornings is an unusual tale of how a Southern Family overcomes life’s storms and search for justice. Told from a black woman’s point of view, the heroine Sunday takes you on an erratic, yet heart-warming journey of truth, hard earned motherhood, and the shake-able, yet unbreakable bond of sisters. Her Father raised her to believe justice is always served by the hand of God… but her sisters believe God could use a little help.
The Deacon’s Daughters are played by Courtney Arlett, Selena Anduze, Maria Liatis, Michelle Hammonds, and writers, executive producers and twin sisters, Michelle Acero (Wade) and Maria Acero (Green). Sunday Mornings was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia with nearly 40 cast and crew members. The film’s Director Inda Reid credits the honor to the “extremely talented and culturally diverse cast.” “Each team member’s attention to detail and collective passion is what truly makes the “big picture” shine.” said Ms. Reid.
“It’s such a blessing to pray for the right people to bring this project to life and get what you asked for. Now, to be acknowledged for that work by IndieFest takes our breath away; said Maria Acero. “We couldn’t have asked for a better team. We are truly grateful to our entire cast and crew in bringing this film into fruition. For us, it’s a little more personal as somewhat of our lives is exposed. We are extremely honored and grateful to IndieFest for recognizing that special something everyone gave to Sunday Mornings”; added sister Michelle Acero.
